LEMON ANGEL WHISPERS 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. almond or lemon flavoring
3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. cake flour
3/4 c. cornstarch
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Powdered sugar

Cream butter, adding sugar gradually. Add beaten eggs, flavoring and sifted dry ingredients. Drop by 1/2 teaspoon on buttered pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. While still warm, put two cookies together with filling and roll in powdered sugar.

FILLING:

1 egg, slightly beaten
2/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. softened butter
3 tbsp. lemon juice
Grated rind of 1 lemon or 1 tsp. of lemon peel

Beat egg lightly. Add lemon juice and rind. Blend in remaining ingredients, mix well. Cook over hot water until thick.
