8 oz. cream cottage cheese 1 c. butter 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour Mix cottage cheese and butter in medium bowl with pastry blender or 2 knives used scissor fashion. Blend well. Sift in flour. Blend until dough forms a smooth ball. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 3 cookie sheets. Dash of cinnamon 3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts 1/4 c. butter Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts. Melt butter. On lightly floured board, roll 1/3 dough into a circle, 1/8 inch thick. Brush dough with some of the melted butter, sprinkle with 1/3 of nut mixture, cut circle into 16 pie-shaped pieces. Beginning at outer edge, roll up each piece tightly and place point side down on cookie sheet. 2 tbsp. water Beat egg yolk with water. Brush tops of cookies. Bake about 20 minutes or until golden. Repeat with remaining dough. Makes 4 dozen cookies. |
