BAKING POWDER BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
5 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in fat until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add milk all at once, mixing until product leaves sides of bowl. Dough should be as soft as can be handled. Turn onto lightly floured board, knead about 20 times. Shape into a ball. Pat or roll to 1/2" thickness. Cut with floured cutter. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. 15 biscuits.
