1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. ground raisins & pour 1 c. hot water over them & add 1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until done. Test with toothpick or straw.

Above cake is good with caramel frosting: 2 tbsp. cream 2 tbsp. butter

Bring to a boil. Cool slightly and add 1 teaspoon vanilla and powdered sugar stirring to desired thickness.
