PRALINES 
2 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. sweet milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. pecans

Put sugar, milk and soda in saucepan and cook until a few drops in cold water forms a soft ball. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla and nuts. Beat until creamy and drop to form patties on waxed paper over which salt has been sprinkled. Use a saucepan larger than one used for this amount of candy, because in cooking candy will rise a bit. As it cools it will turn a golden brown.
