CHERRY SLICES 
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can cherry pie filling

Cream butter. Add sugar, vanilla and eggs, 1 at a time and beat well. Add dry ingredients gradually, beating well. Spread into a large 11"x9" greased pan saving a little more than a cup of batter. Spread one can pie filling to within 1/2" from edge of pan. Place remaining batter by spoonfuls over the pie filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes 35 slices.
