MAGIC BISCUITS 
5 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 to 1 c. shortening
1 to 1 1/2 pkgs. dry yeast
2 c. buttermilk

Combine first 2 ingredients. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in 3 to 4 tablespoons warm water. Stir buttermilk and yeast mixture into flour mixture; mix well. Place in oiled bowl; refrigerate until ready to use. Shape into biscuits.

Place on baking sheet. Bake at 400 to 450 degrees for 10 minutes or until brown. (It is not necessary to let biscuits rise before baking.)
