SUPER SUGAR COOKIES 
2 c. butter, softened
4 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
6 c. flour, pre-sifted
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Sift together dry ingredients. Mix together with creamed mixture. Chill 1 hour. Roll in 1 1/2 to 2 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Make small dimple in center and put 2 drops cold water into dimple. (Cookies should be at least 2 inch apart on cookie sheet.) Bake approximately 20 minutes in oven preheated to 350 degrees. Makes 5 to 6 dozen 2 to 3 inch cookies.
