FUDGE NUT BAR 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 c. shortening or butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
3 c. oatmeal

In a medium saucepan over medium low heat melt together chocolate chips, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla and condensed milk. Set aside.

In mixing bowl, cream together shortening and brown sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Mix in baking powder, flour, and oatmeal. Pat 2/3 of batter in greased 9 x 13 or 10 x 15 inch pan. Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts to melted chocolate mixture and pour over batter in pan. Spread evenly. Break remaining batter in small pieces and sprinkle over chocolate mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until brown.
