CHOCOLATE CHIP APPLE CAKE 
1 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 c. finely chopped apples
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

In large bowl cream butter with sugar. Beat in eggs, then water and vanilla. In another bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and spices. Beat into cream mixture and stir in apples and chocolate chips.

Turn batter into a greased and floured angel food cake pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until done by toothpick testing.
