MOCK CHICKEN-FRIED STEAKS 
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. onion salt
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. chili powder
2 c. cracker or bread crumbs
Shortening

Mix all ingredients except 1 cup crumbs and shortening. Divide mixture into six balls. Sprinkle some crumbs on a board; roll and shape balls into steaks. Be sure both sides are well coated with crumbs. Place on waxed paper; chill for 30 minutes. Brown steaks on both sides in hot shortening. Serve hot.

NOTE: Uncooked steaks may be frozen until needed. Yield: 6 servings.
