3/4 c. sifted flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 sq. chocolate or 4 tbsp. cocoa (heaping) 1/2 c. powdered sugar Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa (if used) together. Mix in nuts. Cream butter until soft and smooth. Add sugar gradually and cream until fluffy. Add eggs, beating well after each addition. If you use chocolate squares, blend in. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients and blend well. Turn into 8 x 8 x 2-inch greased pan. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool in pan and cut into squares. Dust with powdered sugar if needed. |
