PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
3 tbsp. peanut butter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted or 1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and peanut butter until well blended. Then add melted chocolate and mix well. Add dry ingredients, milk and vanilla. Stir until all flour is dampened. Beat vigorously 1 minute. Bake in 2 (8") layer pans. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 25 minutes or until done.

COCOA MINUTE FROSTING:

1 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
Dash of salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Heat shortening with milk until it is melted. Mix together sugar, cocoa and salt. Add hot milk and blend, then add vanilla and beat 1 minute. Add more milk if necessary.
