DAY AHEAD BRISKET | |
4-5 lb. beef brisket 1 med. onion, sliced & separated into rings 1/2 c. water 1 pkg. dry onion soup 2 med. stalks celery, chopped 1 bottle chili sauce 1 can beer Brown brisket. Place in shallow baking dish. Sprinkle onion soup over meat. Put celery and onions on top. Combine chili sauce and water. Pour ground meat. Bake, covered in oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes per pound. About 45 minutes before meat is done add beer. Continue baking until done. Refrigerate overnight. Remove grease from top. Slice meat thinly across grain. Heat meat in cooking liquid until hot. Serves 8 to 10. |
