1/2 c. self rising flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1/3 c. chopped maraschino cherries
2 1/2 c. crushed corn flakes

Combine shortening and sugar; cream well. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Blend in flour and salt; mix thoroughly. Add pecans, dates and maraschino cherries; mix well. Shape into balls using 1 level tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Roll each ball in crushed corn flakes and place on greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with 1/4 maraschino cherry. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
