2 1/2 c. corn flakes
2 1/4 c. reg. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
1 c. finely cut pitted dates
1/3 c. finely cut maraschino cherries
18 maraschino cherries cut into quarters

1. Measure corn flakes, crush coarse crumbs and set aside.

2. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and set aside.

3. Measure butter and sugar into mixing bowl, beat until very light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients together with nuts, dates and finely chopped cherries, mix.

4. Shape level tablespoons of dough into balls. Roll balls in corn flakes. Place on greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with a cherry quarter. Bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes until light brown. Remove immediately from cookie sheet. Makes 6 dozen.
