BAKED LIMA BEANS IN SOUR CREAM | |
1 lb. dried baby lima beans Salt to taste 1 c. sour cream 1/2 c. maple flavor Karo syrup 1 tbsp. dry minced onion Cover beans with water and soak overnight. Cook with as little water as possible to avoid scorch. Add minced onion and small pat of butter. When tender season with salt add sour cream and syrup. Place in casserole or bean pot to bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and some brown. Serves 8-10. Any left overs make delicious sandwiches with celery salt and mayonnaise. |
