1 1/2 c. butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. cake flour (Presto all-purpose flour)
2 tbsp. lemon extract
3/4 c. 7-Up soda

Cream together shortening and sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add flour, beat in lemon extract and 7-Up soda. Grease and flour tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees until brown and tester comes out clean.
