4 c. brown sugar
2 c. water
2 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. cinnamon, cloves, and allspice placed in a bag

Cook beets until skin peel. Mix above ingredients. Boil mixture 10 minutes. Then place over cut up beets and bring to a boil. Seal.
