BREAKFAST CUSTARD | |
4 eggs, beaten 1/4 to 1/3 c. sugar or honey 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. milk Combine all ingredients (in the blender is easiest). Cover bottoms of 6 glass custard cups with one of the suggested variations (see note). Place cups on top of a folded paper towel which has been placed in a large skillet. Pour cold water into skillet to half the height of custard cups and cover tightly with the lid. Bring water to a rolling boil and remove the pan from the heat. Let custard sit as is for 12 to 15 minutes until knife inserted in center of the custard comes out clean. Serve warm or cold. NOTE: Can add brown sugar, coconut, cereal flakes, walnut pieces, chocolate pieces, or raisins. |
