MARBLE COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1/2 (sm.) can chocolate syrup
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. cake flour

Sift flour, soda and baking powder; cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour mixture alternately with sour cream to butter mixture; add vanilla. Pour into a well greased 9 inch angel food pan. Cut in the chocolate syrup with a knife to marbelize, using an up and down motion while pouring the chocolate syrup in a thin stream on top of cake. When this step is complete, sprinkle the following mixture on top of the cake and bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. nuts, crushed
1 tsp. powdered sugar
