MY OWN SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALL RECIPE | |
1 lb. hamburger 2 eggs 1 c. fine bread or cracker crumbs 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1 can tomato sauce or paste 1 can (tomato sauce can) water 1/2 med. onion, chopped or diced 1 sm. pkg. long spaghetti (broken in half) Brown onion in 1 tablespoon fat; add onion to tomato sauce and water mixture. Let cook slowly for 10 minutes. Mix hamburger, eggs, crumbs, salt, and pepper together, then form into small balls. Melt about 1/2 cup fat in skillet and brown meatballs, then drop into tomato sauce mixture and let cook about 10 minutes longer, slowly. Cook spaghetti and pour tomato sauce mixture over spaghetti and serve immediately or if preferred, cook both sauce and spaghetti slowly until desired flavor is mixed into spaghetti. Serves 6-8. |
