FRENCH SILK CHOCOLATE PIE 
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

Need to make double filling recipe for 9 inch pie.

Sift together:

1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Cut in until particles are size of small peas.

1/2 c. shortening

Sprinkle over mixture tossing lightly with fork until dough is moist enough to hold together.

2 to 3 tbsp. cold water

Form a ball. Roll out on floured pastry cloth or board to a 10 inch circle. Fit pastry loosely into 8 inch deep pan. Fold edge to form standing rim; flute. Pierce crust with fork. Bake in hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool.

CHOCOLATE FILLING:

Cream, gradually adding sugar and creaming well:

1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar

Blend in:

1 sq. (1 oz.) chocolate, melted & cooled
1 tsp. vanilla

Add:

2 eggs, one at a time
