BRANDY SAUCE 
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
Pinch of salt
1 sm. piece cinnamon stick
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. brandy

Place milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon stick in saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring slowly. Pour some of the hot milk onto cornstarch, stirring until smooth. Return to saucepan and simmer, stirring until sauce is smooth and thickened. Remove from heat. Take out cinnamon. Stir in brandy. Serve over bread pudding or mincemeat pie. Makes 1 1/4 cups.
