MEATLOAF | |
2 pounds ground beef 1 pound bulk sausage 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper 3 slices white bread, soaked in 3/4 cup milk 2 eggs 1 tbsp. Worcestershire big squirt of ketchup big squirt of yellow mustard Salt and pepper, to taste 1 can tomato soup 1 tbsp. brown sugar Lightly mix all of the ingredients except the tomato soup and brown sugar. Do not over mix. Put into 9x13 Pyrex dish and mold into loaf shape. Top with a mixture of tomato soup, ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar. Spread on top of loaf. Pour 1 soup can of water along side of meatloaf and mix with topping that has dripped down, creating a gravy. Cook 1 1/2 hours at 375°F. The brown sugar in the topping will caramelize, so watch for burning. Submitted by: Katherine Bailey |
