Part I 1 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 2 tbsp. water Part II 1/2 c. butter 1 c. water 1 tsp. almond extract 1 c. flour 3 eggs Part I: Cut butter into flour; add water. mix and shape into ball. Divide, making 2 equal parts. Spread each part on a cookie sheet to make 2 strips 12x3 inch. Part II: Put butter and water in a pan. Bring to a rolling boil. Take off heat, add almond extract. Stir in all the flour at one time. Stir until smooth. Add 1 egg at a time, beating until smooth. Divide mixture in half and spread evenly on each strip. Bake 1 hour or until golden brown at 350 degrees. Frost, when cool, with confectioners icing. |
