LUSCIOUS COCA COLA CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour with 1 tsp. baking powder added
3 tbsp. cocoa, heaping
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. coca cola, boiling
2 eggs
1/2 c. shortening, melted or Wesson oil
1/2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in buttermilk

Mix thoroughly in order listed above. Adding coca cola last. Pour into 2 greased and floured round or square pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. This is very thin batter. Do not open door while baking. This is a very moist cake.

ICING:

2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. white Karo
2/3 c. rich cream
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 stick butter

Mix all ingredients together except butter. Boil slowly until soft ball is formed in cold water. Remove from stove, add butter. Cool before beating. Beat until consistency to spread. If icing becomes too stiff while spreading, add more cream to soften and continue to spread.
