CHERRY PECAN BARS | |
1 c. butter 1/2 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 3 c. flour 4 eggs 2 c. brown sugar 4 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. coconut 1 c. ground pecans ICING: 2 1/4 c. powdered sugar 3 tbsp. melted butter 5 tbsp. maraschino cherry juice Cream butter, shortening, powdered sugar and flour. Press into a 16 x 10 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Combine eggs, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla, coconut and ground pecans. Spread over hot baked layer. Bake 15 minutes longer or until firm. Spread Icing over hot layers. Garnish with cherries and pecans if desired. NOTE: All ingredients can be cut in half and a 9 inch square pan used. |
