APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2/3 c. plus 2 tbsp. shortening
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 to 5 tbsp. cold water (1 to 2 tsp. more if needed)

APPLE DUMPLINGS:

6 apples, pared & cored
3 tbsp. raisins
3 tbsp. chopped nuts
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. water

Use ungreased baking dish. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes or until done. Mix raisins, nuts. Fill apples. Heat brown sugar, water to boiling. Pour carefully around dumplings. Baste several times.
