NUTTY DATE BARS 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped pecans
1/3 c. orange marmalade
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine flour, butter and vanilla in a medium bowl. Blend with pastry cutter until mixture forms a soft dough. Press into a greased 11 x 7 x 2 inch baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown. Beat eggs until foamy in a small mixing bowl; stir in remaining ingredients until well mixed. Spread on crust layer and bake 25 to 30 minutes longer or until top is set and browned. Cool and cut into bars. Makes 2 dozen.
