PONY/HORSESHOE | |
Sliced bread Cooked meat, your choice (chicken, beef, shrimp, hamburger pattie, ham or turkey) Toast bread; lay your choice of cooked meat on top of toast. Pour cheese sauce over meat and toast. Top with French fries. CHEESE SAUCE FOR PONY/HORSESHOE: 2-3 tbsp. butter 2-3 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Milk, Velveeta Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and seasoning. Cook, stirring, until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove form heat. Stir in 1 cup milk. Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add at least 1/2 cup Velveeta and melt. Add milk if needed to make sauce thinner. If you serve one on a plate, it is called a pony. If you serve two on a plate, it is called a horseshoe. |
