GOLDEN PUFFS 
2 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. oil
3/4 c. milk
1 egg

Sift dry ingredients. Add oil, milk and egg. Stir with a fork until thoroughly mixed. Drop by teaspoonfuls (too large puffs will not cook through) into deep hot oil or fat at 375 degrees. Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Roll warm puffs in cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
