1 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 egg whites
1 1/2 c. nuts, ground

Mix shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks, vanilla and salt. Mix well, add flour, mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls, roll in whipped egg whites and then the ground nuts. Bake 5 minutes at 350 degrees, dent with wooden spoon on top. Bake 8 minutes more. Fill dent with jelly before serving. Makes 3 dozen.
