APPLE NUT COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
2 c. finely chopped apples
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter

Cream shortening and sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, salt, baking powder and soda and add this to creamed mixture plus sour cream. Then add apples and spread into 9xa13 pan.

Combine nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Stir to make a crumb mixture. Pour mixture over pan of batter and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
