CHERRY BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cherry juice (add water if not enough)
1 (10 oz.) bottle maraschino cherries (whole or chopped)
Nutmeats (opt.)

Mix shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Stir in cherry juice and then stir in dry ingredients. Stir in cherries and nutmeats. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Makes 2 small loaves.
