RAGOUT 
2 cans beef consomme
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. parsley
1 tbsp. wine vinegar
3 tbsp. salad oil
2 lbs. stew beef - 1 inch pieces
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
Crumbled bay leaf
2 grated carrots
8 pearl onions
8 button mushrooms

Combine all. Add stew beef and marinate overnight. Remove meat from marinade and bring marinade to boil. Add meat, cover and cook slowly for 1 1/2 to 2 hours in a 350 degree oven. Add 8 onions and mushrooms and cook another 25 minutes. Serves 6.
