GREEN BEANS AND BACON 
6 bacon strips, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 lb. fresh beans
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. water

In large skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Add beans, brown sugar and water. Stir gently. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove to serving bowl with slotted spoon.
