APPLE PIE BARS 
CRUST:

2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolks + enough milk to make 2/3 c.

FILLING:

8 or 10 apples, peeled & sliced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon

Divide dough in half, roll out first half and place on large cookie sheet. Spread apple mixture over top and dot with butter. Roll out remaining dough and place on top. Seal edges all around. Brush top with 1 beaten egg white and 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 1 hour. Cut into squares. (May drizzle powdered sugar glaze over the top.)
