STRATA (GOOD FOR BRUNCH) 
12 slices of bread
1 stick butter
3 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 c. ham, turkey, or chicken
2/3 c. either red or green pepper
2 scallions sliced (onions may be substituted)
3 c. milk
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt

Trim crusts from bread and spread with butter. Butter 13 x 9 inch pan. Layer bread, meat, cheese, peppers and scallions. Repeat layers. Beat eggs, seasonings, and milk and pour over layers.

Refrigerate for 24 hours. Allow strata to come to room temperature. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. This can be reheated successfully.
