RABBIT SLO-DOWN 
6 wild rabbits or 3 domesticated rabbits
10 or 12 squirrels
1/2 lbs. fatback meat
1/2 lb. butter
4 lbs. onions
Hot red pepper
Black pepper
Salt

Cut up rabbits and squirrels discarding the breast pieces. Place all ingredients except butter in large pot and cook until meat is done 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add butter in pot and simmer 20 to 30 minutes. Remove fatback meat before it starts to come apart.

NOTE: You can cook this recipe at home on the kitchen stove but it will taste much better if it is cooked on a river somewhere in a black pot over an open fire with a few men sitting around the fire telling tales about what happened in the good old days.
