LEMON FILLING 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour (level spoons)
Rind and juice of 2 lemons
1 egg

Mix sugar and flour; add lemon juice and rind. Stir in well-beaten egg. Cook over low heat until it thickens. Stir continuously while cooking. This makes a filling and icing for a 2-layer cake.
