BAKED BEEF STEW | |
2 lbs. lean beef stew, cut in pieces 1 c. diced onion 3 c. quartered potatoes 1 c. chopped carrots 1 c. chopped celery 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. garlic salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 3 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. sugar 2 (12 oz.) cans V-8 juice (3 c.) 1 can peas, drained (add 30 minutes before removing from oven) Place all ingredients except peas in large Dutch oven with tight lid - bake at 250 degrees for 4 1/2 hours. Add peas and bake 30 minutes more. Do not remove lid for the first 4 1/2 hours. |
