SHOOFLY CAKE 
4 c. unsifted flour
3/4 c. Crisco oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. brown sugar (save 1 c. for topping)
1 c. black molasses
2 1/4 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. baking soda

Mix together the flour, oil, salt and brown sugar. Then mix the molasses, boiling water and baking soda and add the flour mixture. Spread in a 9 x 12 inch cake pan and sprinkle the saved brown sugar on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.
