SAUERKRAUT WITH APPLES 
1 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. butter
1 (1 lb. 11 oz.) can sauerkraut
1 1/2 c. apple slices
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. dry mustard

Saute onion in butter until soft and clear but not brown. Mix with sauerkraut. Place alternate layers of kraut and apples in greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with brown sugar and mustard. Cover and bake in moderate oven (375 temperature) for 30 minutes.

Good with ham, pork chops or polish sausage.
