LENTIL SOUP 
1 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
6 c. water
1 lb. lentils
2 lg. carrots, diced
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 med. potato, chopped
3-4 tbsp. tomato sauce

Cut sausage in small rounds. Brown in skillet. Pour off all fat. Wash lentils. Combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat until lentils are soft.
