CHERRY NUT SLICES 
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. candied cherries
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. chopped Brazil nuts or filberts

Sift flour with salt, cinnamon and baking soda. Cream butter. Add brown sugar, vanilla and milk. Cream well. Add dry ingredients gradually and mix thoroughly. Stir in cherries and nuts. Shape into rolls 12 inches long. Wrap and chill 4 to 6 hours or overnight. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden.
