STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS | |
5 lg. green peppers 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs or 3/4 leftover rice 1 lg. onion 1 lg. stalk celery & leaves 2 cloves garlic 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 eggs Salt/pepper to taste 3 tbsp. butter Sliced cheddar cheese Saute onion, celery, garlic in butter. Brown and drain ground beef. Add beef and additional ingredients except cheese; stir and cook on low for about 5 minutes or until eggs are cooked. Cut green peppers in half, boil until just tender. Spoon mixture into green pepper shells; garnish with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until cheese melts. Serves 6 to 8. (Can be cooked ahead and refrigerated or frozen.) |
