MOLASSES SUGAR COOKIES | |
3/4 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. Brer Rabbit molasses 1 egg 2 c. all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon Melt shortening in a 3 or 4 quart saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg; beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda, spices and salt. Add to first mixture and mix well. Cover and leave in refrigerator overnight. Form into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place on greased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 minutes. Yields 60 cookies. |
