MOLASSES SUGAR COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter (Fleischmann's corn oil butter works best)
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. dark molasses (I use Grandmother's brand)
1 egg, beaten
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sifted flour

Cream sugar, butter and molasses. Add beaten egg. Mix well. Add dry ingredients that have been sifted together. Mix well. Roll into 1-inch size balls, dip in sugar; place on cookie sheet. Do not flatten. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheet, then move to wire rack to finish cooling.
