MOM'S NEVER FAIL CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. flour
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. sour milk
1/2 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Salt (pinch)

Place all ingredients in mixing bowl together; then mix until light. Bake in medium oven at 350°F.

Makes 8 or 9-inch square cake or you can double all ingredients for a 13 x 9 inch pan.
